A breakout assembly makes use of the fact that fiber optic cable can be separated into multiple fibers that are easily distributed and terminated individually or in groups.
Breakoutīreakouts refer to a multiple-fiber cable connectorized with either many single connectors or one or more multiple-fiber connectors on either end. Its rugged design allows the biconic connector to be used in military applications. The ferrule can be made with either ceramic or stainless steel. The dual conical faces ensure proper mating of the fibers in a connection. The biconic connector features a cone-shaped tip, which holds a single fiber.
